The authors :
Professor Stephen TSAI is one of the pioneers of the mechanics of composite materials. World wide known for his work on the failure criteria, Professor TSAI's work is a key launcher for the composite since the 70's.
Jean Paul Charles begins his career by manufacturing composites, first custom parts in his own workshop then with mass production processes in the RCMP company. Afterward, with the Composites Division of CIBA group, he develops new products. He joins EUROCOPTER, where he is the head of the material characterisation laboratory. Today he works in the development of new methods for the prediction of the behavior of helicopter composite structures in the design office, in collaboration with the Université de la Méditerranée as an Associate Professor.
